In 2008, the European Clinical Specialization Course on Fluency Disorders (ECSF) was established as a postgraduate training program. Recently, it has been renamed European Stuttering Specialization (ESS) to better reflect its focus. ESSAlcoitão has been a member of the European Stuttering Specialization (ESS) consortium since 2015.
The main objectives of the consortium are:
- To provide advanced training for speech and language therapists specializing in stuttering and cluttering;
- To facilitate knowledge sharing among therapists from different countries;
- To establish a network of speech and language therapists specialized in this field.
