This course will provide an overview of sensory integration intervention as applied to individuals with various disabilities including autism and developmental disabilities. Emphasis will be on application of sensory integration principles to adolescents and adults with disabilities. The relation of various factors such as diagnoses, medications, and behaviors to sensory integration problems in these populations will be discussed. Basic principles for developing sensory diet programs for this population will be presented. Lecture, video, and case studies will be used to enhance learning.
